Student Services
The Student Services department provides a wide variety of services to both local and city school districts in Summit, Medina, and Portage Counties, as well as in neighboring communities. Services may include special education, school psychologists and related services personnel. We also provide intervention specialists, educational aides, attendants, and interpreters to assist area districts in meeting the educational needs of their students. In addition, we coordinate staff, and run a comprehensive, integrated preschool program for students ages three through five. Beginning in the fall of 2008, we launched SCOPE Academy, an innovative, multi-age preschool housed at Boyer Kindergarten Center.
During the year, we provide staff development opportunities for all educators and district leaders to comply with Ohio’s “Operating Standards for Ohio’s Schools Serving Children with Disabilities,” and research-based practices.
The Summit County ESC coordinates the Summit County Counselors’ Association’s monthly newsletter and quarterly meetings. Summit County has a long history of providing outstanding services to our schools.
We strive to accommodate your district and student needs!
